Introducing the miniDOT® Logger

The miniDOT® Logger is a completely submersible instrument that logs dissolved oxygen and temperature measurements.

The PME oxygen sensor is an optode that measures dissolved oxygen concentrations in water through a fluorescence method. Data is recorded to an internal SD card.

Dr. Emily Arsenault is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Biology, at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She currently serves as Director of the Cranberry Lake Biological Station where she and graduate students from the Arsenault Freshwater Ecology Lab utilize PME loggers to support their research initiatives.


Researcher Alyson Hall is currently studying human stressors like rising temperature and how it affects seagrass ecosystem processes in Chesapeake Bay, U.S. With the support of the new researcher program, Alyson plans to use the miniDOT® loggers to measure and track oxygen changes per minute.


Researcher Catherine Golubovsky will utilize resources from PME’s program to guide her through her developing research career as she completes her undergraduate honors thesis and moves on to her graduate studies.
