The recommended storage instructions for your miniDOT® vary based on what type of batteries you are using to power your device. If you are using lithium AA batteries, you should leave them installed during storage to prevent the backup battery from being depleted.
However, if you are using alkaline AA batteries you will need to remove them during storage. This is because alkaline batteries, unlike lithium batteries, can be prone to leak acid if they are left in the device for a long time. Battery leakage is dangerous and will cause damage to your miniDOT.
It is recommended that the miniDOT’s cap remains attached during storage to prevent damage to the product.
