miniWIPER for Cyclops-7 Logger An anti-fouling wiper for the Cyclops-7 Logger

The miniWIPER is a self-contained, completely submersible, wiping device that can be used with a variety of sensors. It can be programmed to wipe at various intervals, and is powered from two AA Lithium batteries. A small brush rotates over the sensor in order to perform a complete wipe of the sensor surface, and then rests away from the sensor to allow for accurate and continuous monitoring. The wiper is used as an anti-fouling device and may reduce the growth of various organisms on the sensor.

  • Full wipe of sensor
  • Long-lasting in field
  • 25 meter depth rating
  • Portable and easy to use

Product Design

The miniWIPER was designed in-house by PME engineers with the idea to have a wiper, which is portable, completely submersible, reliable and easy to use. The miniWIPER outer encasement is manufactured from a strong Delrin plastic, and all other components are sourced from high-quality suppliers.

miniWIPER Information & Specifications

The table to the right shows the battery endurance of roughly 2,000 wipes. We suggest that the wiper be customer inspected every few months to ensure that it is working properly. Although we expect the wiper to last longer, when wiping intervals are farther apart, it is necessary to check on it every few months or sooner.

Sample Interval Minutes Days of SamplingNumber of Samples
1 hour 90 Roughly 2000
6 hours 365 (1yr) Roughly 2000
24 hours 1,095 (3yrs) Roughly 2000

Device Software

Software is provided with the miniWIPER to allow the user to view wiping interval, battery voltage, number of wipes performed and wiped calibrations.
