The Laser Turbidity Sensor is designed to be used with SCAMP's fluorometer. The sensor is shown in the picture at right. It is the black cylinder located at the center of the end cap, among the other sensor sealing nuts.

 

 

Features

Emits pulsed infrared light from a laser diode located in the cavity, illuminating the water directly outside.
Photo diode detector views the small section of the illuminated volume.
If particles are present, then some of the light will be scattered into the photo diode and detected.
Electrical signal is amplified and recorded within SCAMP
