Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR)

The SCAMP can make vertical profiles of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) by using a Li-Cor LI-192SA Underwater Quantum Sensor, and measuring a section of the down welling illumination spectrum.

The Li-Cor sensor is the brass cylinder in the picture at right. The white rectangles are floats that are attached to compensate for the sensor's weight. The wiring harness is shown connected to SCAMP's I/O connector and splits at the green band. One wire is connected to the sensor, the other is shown with the normal SCAMP I/O cover in place. I/O connection is made by removing this cover and connecting the I/O cable.

Features

A wiring harness is provided that connects the sensor to SCAMP and to the usual I/O or communication cables supplied.
Consists of a Li-Cor LI-192SA Underwater Quantum Sensor connected to SCAMP's drag plate.
Measures down welling radiation and upwelling radiation
The sensor is connected to circuits by an additional connector that replaces the usual I/O connector
PAR can easily be retrofitted to SCAMP systems already in use.
