Real-Time Data in Idaho
A lake monitoring system was installed in Deadwood Reservoir for the Bureau of Reclamation to monitor the temperature and dissolved oxygen levels. The system is configured to telemeter real-time data via Iridium satellite to BOR headquarters.
The system will transmit meteorological data (wind speed, wind direction, net and solar radiation), temperature, and dissolved oxygen measurements. The station has been modified for continuous transmission through the winter months when the reservoir freezes over.

Water Quality Management
The U.S. Geological Survey Arkansas Water Science Center is monitoring the water quality and conditions at Beaver Lake. The reservoir is considered a primary watershed and information is needed to assess water quality, especially nutrient enrichment, nutrient-algal relations, turbidity, and sediment issues within the system.
