About Us
Our mission is to provide exceptional sensors, software and instrumentation for the purpose of fresh and saltwater research. Our products are used for a variety of applications from fluid dynamics to lake management. PME works hard to achieve consistent customer satisfaction.
Precision Measurement Engineering, Inc. (PME) is dedicated to the design and manufacture of reliable and accurate water monitoring systems and instruments for oceanographic and limnologic use. PME products can be found throughout the international scientific community and are used for high resolution measurement of electrical conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pressure, fluorescence, and PAR concentration in water.
Precision Measurement Engineering, Inc. is a small family business that began in 1982 and is located in San Diego, California. PME values the environment and strives to provide the global scientific community with reliable, durable and accurate products.

Dr. Michael Head (CEO)
Michael received his Ph.D. from SCRIPPS Institution of Oceanography and started PME in 1982 with his wife, Sandra. Michael has always been interested in design, science and health. You can find him elaborating his Jeep with unique accessories, working hard to organize a weekend camping trip, or trying to lower his swim times. |

Sandy Head (CFO)
Sandra has worked with Michael for over 20 years. Together, they create an efficient and highly productive team. With her determination and drive, she has created PME’s enduring foundation. Sandra can be found diligently planning the re-design of her home, striving for faster run times, or sweating away the week’s work by dancing into the night. |

Garren Martel (Engineering and Design)
Garren graduated from ITT Tech and studied electronic design and programming. He brings a wide range of talents in engineering and design developments to PME. Garren can be found mastering his computer techniques, playing football, or competing with individuals around the world at the latest computer game. |

Kristin Elliott-Head (Business Manager)
Kristin, daughter of Michael and Sandy, graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Communications. She has worked in a variety of fields from public relations to advertising. Kristin brings her creative talent and knack for expression to PME. She can be found competing vigorously to beat the opposing softball team, planning the next out of town adventure, or polishing her snow boarding skills to perfection. |

Ryan Reschan (Engineer and Manufacturing)
Ryan graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Ryan brings his knowledge in optical electronics, holography, lasers, and modulators to PME. He can be found excitedly cheering on his favorite San Diego athletic teams, scouring the local music scene, or accomplishing his desire to play bass guitar. |

Erik Elliott (Manufacturing Manager)
Erik has over ten years of lead managerial experience and uderstands some financial and structural dynamics of a small business.
He has a strong passion for the oceans and environment, being a native San Diegan and growing up along the surf.
Erik can be found searching for the next geocache, anxiously waiting for his next camping trip, or sharpening his backpacking knowledge at the local REI. |

Justin Purser (Manufacturing)
Justin recently moved to San Diego from Oklahoma. He brings his enthusiasm and willingness to learn. In his free time, Justin can be found having fun fishing from the local coastal pier, playing football with friends, or exploring San Diego. |
